January 28 at 3:33 AM ·. 2020 marked the 20th anniversary of the resolution 1325, adopted by the United Nations Security Council On October 31, 2000. To shed light on this important date, EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) and its partners decided to launch an online event to celebrate and acknowledge the turning point that the UNSCR 1325 marked for the recognition of women as essential actors in peace building and democracy. EuroMed Feminist Initiative calls upon all the governments of the Euro-Med region to take adequate measures to: Ensure the right of women to work , to secure jobs and to equal pay for equal job. Make social and health protection an economic priority and adopt in this field laws based on international conventions on economic and social rights. During the past 12 years, EuroMed Feminist Initiative and its partners have been working on mainstreaming gender in all aspects of Syria's future.
